Legacy Program

First NAtions Legacy Stream

Australia is a land with a proud indigenous heritage. In the spirit of reconciliation, paying our respects to Elders past and present, and acknowledging the original custodians of this fine country — specifically the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation on whose land ICC Sydney stands — we developed the First Nations stream.

We firmly believe that we have an obligation to celebrate and showcase the cultures of Australia’s First Nations. Through our partnerships with the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce, Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council (MLAC), the KARI Foundation and Supply Nation, we offer connections to local First Nations businesses so that you can pay your respects and provide a rich cultural experience for your delegates.

ICC Sydney stands and operates on Tumbalong, land of the Gadigal clan of the Eora Nation. A Welcome to Country acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land in spirit of recognition and as demonstration of respect to their traditions, laws and customs.

Traditional welcomes can take many forms including speech, smoking ceremony, song or dance.
