Following the outbreak of COVID-19 there have been some huge changes to our business at ICC Sydney. We have had to rapidly shift our focus to our virtual events services, to help clients continue to meet and connect during this time.
We are lucky that we already had in place a wide offering and skilled team to make this happen. I’ve been amazed by how quickly clients have adapted to this new world. Working together we have been able to reimagine formats and content to continue to deliver world class events online.
Just yesterday, primary school students tuned in for Dirt Detectives led by Sydney Learning Adventures, an initiative of Place Management NSW. Live streamed from ICC Sydney, the ‘virtual excursion’ took students on a historical and archaeological tour of Sydney’s The Rocks. Three presenters on stage created an educational excursion that was enriching, accessible and followed social distancing practises.
Our in-house team of audio visual professionals delivered the episode from ICC Sydney’s The Studio. This involved a 10 metre wide LED backdrop for graphics, two audio operators, multiple broadcast cameras and truss mounted PTZ cameras with video switching control, utilizing E2 to seamlessly switch from presenters to a virtual map and archaeological artefacts in a live one-way broadcast.
Over the last few weeks we have delivered several other events online including Committee for Sydney hosting a live webinar and our CEO, Geoff Donaghy, to media title AusBiz TV, demand and bookings are growing with 35 events in the pipeline or confirmed for the next three months.
With demand for virtual events growing, we have expanded our services with a second studio, offering more live streaming and video conferencing capabilities.
It is positive that in the current climate, businesses and organisations see huge value in continuing to come together, connect and collaborate. In fact, it is probably more important than ever. I am proud that ICC Sydney is able to make this happen.
