ICC Sydney Named as Finalist in Prestigious MEA Awards

30 Apr 2018

ICC Sydney has been crowned ‘Best Event Venue – Capacity over 500’ at the New South Wales Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) 2017 Awards, adding to the venue’s impressive list of industry accolades.

With a focus on promoting excellence in all aspects of meetings and event management, the MEA Awards recognise industry best practice. ICC Sydney was recognised as a driving force in the Australian events industry, providing unparalleled visitor experiences while overcoming key challenges in its critical first year of operation.

Taking out the state category, ICC Sydney is now a finalist in the MEA National Awards, set to take place in Adelaide from 6-8 May 2018 during the National MEA Conference.

A major occasion in the Australian business events industry calendar, the conference will provide a forum for robust discussions around new technology, techniques and trends for Australian event and meeting planners across all levels.

ICC Sydney’s Marketing and Communications Manager, Lesley Gurney will host ‘Extraordinary Partnerships: ICC Sydney’ – a panel session  covering the importance of local collaboration in successful bids for large scale international events and showcase the highly successful SAP’s Asia-Pacific Field Kick-Off Meeting (SAP FKOM) held at ICC Sydney in January 2018.

Gurney will facilitate discussion from ICC Sydney International Business Development Executive, Dana Fish; Business Events Sydney’s Head of Industry for Professional Services and Technology David Swagell; Hyatt Regency Sydney’s Director of MICE Sales, Anne-Sophie Pouzin and ExpoNet Managing Director, Shaun Rae.

Attendees will gain insights into the role of partnerships in hosting world class events and how to forge long term relationships with clients.
