ICC sydney theatre receives global ranking

01 May 2017

After just four months of operation, ICC Sydney Theatre has made it to the prestigious Pollstar ‘world’s top 50 performing theatres’ first-quarter listing which is calculated through ticket sales.

The ICC Sydney team is delighted to join the illustrious company of the Royal Albert Hall and Hammersmith Apollo in London, Radio City Music Hall in New York and AEG sister facility, Microsoft Theatre at LA Live.

Pollstar is a leading US based publication for the entertainment and concert industry with global reach and footprint. It undertakes and publishes regular surveys of venue sales performance covering all categories and facility types, the outputs of which are eagerly anticipated and read across the industry.

Geoff Donaghy, CEO of ICC Sydney, said this was a great endorsement for the venue’s live entertainment segment, especially taking into account its short time of operation.

“ICC Sydney Theatre is attracting some of the biggest touring acts in the world, from Cyndi Lauper and Blondie to Keith Urban and Nick Cave, our facilities are providing a world class experience for both the artists and patrons”, he said.

This industry recognition reflects ICC Sydney’s ability to bring great artists and acts to Sydney, while still delivering business events that foster and encourage knowledge sharing and innovation.  As a venue of diverse capabilities, ICC Sydney is showcasing its position as Australia’s premier convention, exhibition and events precinct.
