Sustainability

ICC Sydney is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations, working with our partners and clients to facilitate sustainable events.

As part of a recognised Green Precinct, awarded 6 stars under the Green Building Council of Australia’s Green Star Communities certification, and with a Gold LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, ICC Sydney hosts a raft of key sustainability features.

Through an industry leading partnership with Sydney Water to decrease bottled water consumption and a partnership with OzHarvest to donate unused food ICC Sydney is also demonstrating its commitment to reducing waste and supporting communities in need.

Environment

ICC Sydney is committed to reducing our environmental impact. We do so through ongoing efforts to save energy and water, purchase environmentally preferable products, minimise our waste and help raise awareness of environmental issues.

What we're doing

ICC Sydney collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainable operations and sustainable events. Committed to constantly improving our outputs, we have a number of strategies in place to monitor and track our environmental impact.

  • Exchanging environmental best practices with other venues through City of Sydney’s Sustainable Destinations Partnership.
  • Tracking our environmental performance on a monthly basis, measuring energy consumption, water usage, and waste diversion.
  • Reporting environmental metrics in our Annual Performance Review.
  • Collaborating with clients through our Event Legacy Program to encourage sustainable events.

As a member of the global AEG family, ICC Sydney is also proud to participate in AEG 1EARTH, AEG’s corporate environmental sustainability program. To learn more about AEG’s sustainability efforts, please visit the AEG 1EARTH Website and read AEG’s Sustainability Report.
